What made you want to begin your fitness journey at Dissent Athletics?
Hello my dissent family. The reason I joined Dissent Athletics was to challenge myself on how far my body can exceed the expectations of my own physical strength. I also wanted to complete the recovery of the lost focus and drive that I once had to achieve anything I wanted.
Tell us a little about your family!
I take care of my niece and visit my parents.
What do you do for work?
I work as a warehouse supervisor. I’m in charge of production, billing orders for restaurants, bars, clubs, and pubs. I have been in this business for almost 10 years now so I know pretty well which tequila, scotch, bourbon, gin taste good, but I am not an expert on wine, cognac or rum.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I take care of my niece and take her wherever she wants. It could be chuck e cheese or to the park or even to her favorite store Kroger. My free time is visiting my parents, washing my car for almost 2 hours, getting massage therapy and shopping for new workout gear. I’m team DC Comics fan ever since I was a small Bruce Wayne. I enjoy watching wrestling, traveling every year to new states, and going to front row concerts.
Do you have any current goals in the gym? Anything you’ve already achieved or didn’t think was possible in the beginning?
My current goal is to finish this year stronger in weightlifting than when I started. Then by next year I want to focus on my endurance, double unders, toes to bar. I finally was able to do chest to bar pullups. Double unders I achieved at first but then lost them.
I just want to thank everyone around me in the Dissent crew that motivates me in every workout, challenges me if I can beat the time, and inspires me to come in everyday as if it was my own home. Thanks again to all the coaches for fully pushing me and for making me feel welcome.
